Bernhard Böck studied forestry sciences and mechanical engineering at the University of Munich. He did scientific work in the fields of metal forming and die casting at the Technical University of Munich.

His major fields of past activities include mechanical engineering, in particular production technologies and precision mechanics; automotive technologies; structural engineering, in particular steel and glass structural engineering; agricultural machine technologies; food production technologies.

The activities in these fields included patent and trademark prosecution, litigation, in particular patent infringement litigation, and licensing.

He is a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), the Board of German Patent Attorneys (Patentanwaltskammer), the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) , the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Association of German Engineers (VDI), Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), Bundesverband Deutscher Patentanwälte and the Siebold-Gesellschaft (German – Japanese Society, Würzburg).
