Industrial property rights are assets and can be of quite considerable value depending on the market situation.
In the exploitation of industrial property rights, a basic distinction must be made between whether the industrial property rights are to be exploited by the sale of own goods or the rendering of own services (own use) or whether the industrial property rights are to be exploited by sale or granting of licences to third parties (third party use).
